Addresses
The address book of every customer: totals, attention chips, filters, columns, the address panel, row and bulk actions, merging duplicates, the postal code check and importing addresses from CSV.
On this page
Addresses lists every saved pickup and delivery address of every customer, with its pricing zone, defaults and how often orders use it. It needs addresses:read (every role except Warehouse Manager). Adding and importing need addresses:create, changing needs addresses:write (Admin, Operations Manager). For the how-to see Use the address book.
A link to a single address (/addresses/ADDR-…, for example from the command palette) opens the owning customer's Places page.

Header buttons
- Check postal code: type a Postal code (
M5V 2T6or11201) and click Check to see which pricing zone an address there would fall into. - Clean up with AI: opens Address book cleanup: the AI checks the whole book one address at a time and suggests fixes as it goes (duplicates, values in the wrong field, typos), next to the instant rule-based quick checks. Hidden when the AI assistant is turned off for your company, isn't in your plan or the monthly AI budget is used up.
- Add address: Which customer is it for? Pick the Customer (addresses live in a customer's address book so dispatchers and the portal can pick them on orders), then fill the address form (below).
- Import CSV: see Import addresses below.
Attention chips
| Chip | Meaning | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Missing coordinates | No map position: distance-priced quotes and routes can't use them until it is fixed. | Edit the address and pick it from the address suggestions, or correct the street so it can be found. |
| Outside zones | The postal code is not in any pricing zone: orders need a quote. | Add the postal code to a zone in pricing, or price those orders by hand. |
| Duplicates | Same customer, same street and postal code. | Merge duplicates. |
Filters
All types (Pickup and delivery, Pickup only, Delivery only), All statuses (Active, Inactive), All customers, All zones (with counts). Filters and search are kept in the page address.
The table
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Address | Label, a star to favourite it (addresses:write), and the full address. |
| Customer | The owner. |
| Used for | Pickup and delivery, pickup only, delivery only. |
| Zone | The pricing zone, or outside zones; a "location needed" badge without a map position. |
| Defaults | Default pickup and / or delivery for the customer. |
| Status | Active or Inactive. |
| Orders | How many orders used it. |
Empty: "No addresses yet". The toolbar export includes ID, customer, label, street, suite, city, province, postal code, zone, type, status and orders.
Row ⋯ menu
All items except View details need addresses:write.
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| View details | Opens the address panel. |
| Edit address | Opens the address form. |
| Add to favourites / Remove from favourites | Stars it. |
| Set as default pickup / Clear default pickup, Set as default delivery / Clear default delivery | The address the order form prefills for this customer. |
| Activate / Deactivate | Inactive addresses can't be picked for new orders. |
| Merge duplicates | Shown when duplicates exist. |
| Delete | Removes it, with an undo toast. Addresses used by open orders, billing addresses and a customer's last address are kept and reported. |
The address panel
Shows "Location needed" when the address has no map position (distance quotes, routes and the driver's GPS check need it), a duplicates warning with merge, Customer, Site contact, Instructions, Receiving hours ("Any time" when none), Service time, Used (orders, last used), Defaults, Orders using this address (number, pickup or delivery, total, status), GPS check at this address (empty = the company or customer rule; use it when drivers stop far from the pin, such as a loading dock or a campus) and Edit address.
The address form
Every field is visible at once, in three parts: Contact, Address and Other information (side by side on a wide screen). A billing address has only the address fields and a Label.
The customer's settings can make Company name, Contact name, Phone, Email, Suite, unit or dock and Special instructions required (company default and per customer: Address fields in Customer experience or the customer's Settings tab). A required one is marked *; saving without it says "Required for this customer", also when editing an older address. Billing addresses, CSV imports and the API are not checked.
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Company name | No, unless the customer requires it | Shown in address lists. Blank = street and city. |
| Contact name, Phone, Email | No, unless the customer requires it | |
| Street address | Yes | Picking a suggestion fills the fields and sets the map position. A typed address is placed on the map when you save. |
| Suite, unit or dock | No, unless the customer requires it | |
| City, Province (State for a US address), Postal code (ZIP code) | Yes | e.g. Mississauga, ON, L5B 3C2. |
| Country | No | |
| Used for | No | Pickup and delivery, Pickup only, Delivery only. A pickup-only address can't be an order's delivery. |
| Contact's language | No | Delivery texts and emails to this address. |
| Special instructions | No, unless the customer requires it | e.g. "Ring the bell at dock 3". |
| Receiving hours | No | Days with Opens and closing times. Copied onto orders; a delivery window that misses them is flagged. |
| Service time (min) | No | Minutes a stop here takes. Empty = the customer's or fleet default. |
| Default shipping address | No | The customer's default for new orders. |
Bulk actions
Activate, Deactivate, Merge (two or more addresses of the same customer) and Delete need addresses:write; Export is for everyone. Merge asks you to choose the address to keep: the others are removed and their order counts, defaults and favourites move to it. Past orders keep their own copy of the address.
Import addresses
Import addresses from CSV: pick the Customer, then a CSV file or Or paste CSV (Download template gives the headers). Map each column (Label, Street address, Suite / unit, City, State / province, Postal code, Country, Used for, Site contact, Contact phone, Contact email, Instructions) or Ignore column. A street column is required; at most 200 rows per import. Check rows shows Row, Address and Result; then Import n rows (or Import n valid rows only). Download skipped rows gets the rows that failed.
Good to know
- Orders keep a snapshot of their addresses: editing or deleting an address never changes existing orders.
