Watch: Recurring orders

2:18

Turn an order into a schedule, see the dates before they happen, handle exceptions, and pause without losing the pattern.

On this page

Recurring orders lists every series: an order that repeats on a schedule. NemiRoute creates each order a few days ahead of its date and prices it when it is created. Anyone with orders access can open the page; starting a series needs orders:create, pausing needs orders:write, and the company settings need settings:write (Admin). For the how-to see Set up recurring orders.

At a glance

AreaWhat it shows or does
HeaderSettings (Admin) and New recurring order (orders:create).
Plan forecastWhat the next run creates and whether your plan's order limit blocks any of it.
Filter chipsActive, Paused, Blocked dates, each with a count.
SearchSearch name or customer... (× or Esc clears it)
TableOne row per series.

Plan forecast

A callout under the header says one of:

  • "The next run creates n (as pending)" or "(as drafts)", with how many days ahead orders are created and how many orders your plan has left this period (or that it has no order limit).
  • "n of the next m would be blocked by your plan": your plan allows a number of orders per period; blocked dates are retried automatically once there is room. Upgrade plan opens your subscription.
  • "n could not be created because of the plan limit": they are retried every hour.
ChipShows
ActiveSeries that create orders.
PausedSeries paused by someone or automatically.
Blocked datesSeries with dates the series could not create an order for (plan limit, closed depot…).

Click a chip again to clear it. The search matches the series name and the customer. Empty results: "No recurring orders match" (clear the search or filter). No series at all: "No recurring orders yet", which explains you can repeat any order from its page with Repeat for dates… or pick a recent order here.

The table

ColumnShows
SeriesThe series name (opens it) and the customer.
ScheduleThe rule (for example "Every weekday (Mon-Fri)") and the pickup time.
StatusActive or Paused, and "n blocked" when dates are blocked.
Next orderThe next date, "Paused", or "No more dates".
Orders createdHow many orders the series has created so far.
⋯Pause or Resume (orders:write), with an undo toast.

New recurring order

  1. Click New recurring order. Which order should repeat? lists recent orders; the pickup, delivery and packages of the order you pick become the pattern. With no orders yet it says "No orders to repeat yet" and offers Create an order.
  2. The schedule form opens (Repeat this order). Its fields are described in Recurring order detail page. Click Start repeating.

You can also start a series from any order with Repeat for dates….

Settings

Recurring order settings apply to every series of the company:

Company holidaysRead-only count with Edit the business calendar.Series that skip holidays create no order on your business calendar's closed days.

Click Save settings.

Good to know

  • Orders from a series show a recurring badge on their order page.
  • A series the customer set up in their portal creates customer-placed orders, so they wait in Awaiting approval when that customer's orders need approval. A series you started yourself creates staff-placed orders, which go straight to Pending (or Draft).
  • With Auto-assign new orders on in Dispatch rules…, every order a series creates as Pending goes to the best-fitting driver as soon as it is created, up to the days ahead you set above. When nobody fits, it waits in Pending with a note. The customer gets no "assigned" email for an order you started yourself this way.
  • Editing a series never changes orders that already exist.
