Edit order

The Edit order form for drafts, orders awaiting approval and pending orders: every section and field, what can and can't change, and when you must confirm a new price.

Edit order changes an order before it is dispatched. Open it from an order's ⋯ menu (Edit order) or Complete draft in What's next?. It needs orders:write (Dispatcher, Operations Manager, Admin). After a driver is assigned, use Edit details on the order page instead (see Order detail page).

When you can edit

Order statusWhat you can change
DraftEverything below, including the packages. Required fields can stay empty until you confirm the draft.
Awaiting approval, PendingEverything except the packages. Required fields must be filled.
Any other statusNothing here: the page says "This order can no longer be edited" with Back to order. Duplicate the order to start a new request.

The customer can't be changed (the header says so); duplicate the order to book it for another customer.

Packages

Each line: Package n (description), Package type, Qty., Weight each, Volume, Declared value (per package), Handling and Shipper barcodes (optional). Add package adds a line (up to 50); the bin removes one. The section reminds you that packages can only change while the order is a draft; the server refuses package changes on any other status.

Notes

Delivery instructionsThe driver.
Internal notesOnly your team.
Customer notesFrom the customer's request.

Saving and the price

On a draft the price is simply recalculated. On a submitted order the price is locked: if your changes (service, vehicle class, addresses, stops) move the price, Confirm the new price shows the old and new totals; Save at $… saves and locks the new price; Keep editing goes back to the form. If the order is already invoiced or its money is locked, price changes are refused.

Good to know

  • Leaving with unsaved changes asks Discard unsaved changes? (Keep editing / Discard changes).
  • Server checks return their messages next to the fields; anything else shows in "The order couldn't be saved".
  • Every saved change is in the order's History tab, and once the order is submitted the customer gets the "order edited" email when a field they can see changes.
