Import orders places many orders at once from a spreadsheet: one row per order, and you check every row before anything is created. Open it with Import on Orders or Many orders? Upload a spreadsheet on the order screen. You need the Place orders permission. For the task step by step, see Import orders from a spreadsheet.

At a glance

A step bar at the top shows where you are: Upload, Match columns, Check, Done.

AreaWhat it does
Choose your fileUpload a CSV or Excel file, or download the sample template
Match your columnsSay what each column of your file is
Check before importingEvery row checked against your account's rules and prices
Import resultWhat was created, with View orders and Undo this import
Past importsEarlier files, their result and undo

Choose your file

LimitValue
File typesCSV or Excel (.xlsx)
Rowsup to 1,000, one order per row
Sizeup to 5 MB

Drop the file on the box or click to choose it. Download the sample template gives a file with every column and an example row. Nothing has been created yet stays true until the last step.

Every row needs a delivery street, city, state or province and postal code, a package description and a weight, either Weight per piece or Total weight, in your courier's unit (kg or lb). Everything else is optional: your reference, external order ID, service, pickup date and time, pickup address, receiver's name, phone and email, delivery instructions, package type, quantity, declared value, notes and your courier's own fields.

Match your columns

The table lists each Column in your file with Examples from your rows and Use it as. Most columns are matched by their name; the line above says how many were matched. Set a column you don't need to Don't import.

While a required field has no column, the page says Some required information is not matched yet and names it (for example Choose a column for: Weight per piece). Check with the number of rows starts the check. Choose another file starts over.

Check before importing

TileMeaning
Ready to importRows that will become orders
Need a fixRows with a problem; they are never imported
New addresses to addDelivery addresses not in your address book yet; they are added to it

Below, switch between Problems (2) and All rows (14). Each row shows its Row number, the Delivery, the Price and the Result: Ready (with a note when something will happen) or the problems found. Rows marked with a note are fine; the note tells you what will happen.

ButtonWhat it does
Download rows to fixA CSV of only the failed rows, with a Problem column, to correct and upload again
Import 12 orders, skip 2Places the good rows. With no problems it reads Import 12 orders.
Back to columnsGo back and change the matching

Import result

The result says how many orders were imported (for example 12 of 14 orders imported) and Your orders are placed and drivers are being lined up., or how many rows were not imported. View orders opens the list; Download rows to fix gets the skipped rows as your own spreadsheet rows, Problem list only just the problems; Import another file starts again.

Undo this import asks Undo this import?; Undo import then cancels and removes every order from that file. It only works for your latest import, while none of its orders has been picked up or moved on, and when your company may cancel orders online. Addresses the import added stay in your address book.

Past imports

A table of earlier imports:

ColumnShows
FileThe file name
WhenDate and time
Result12 created, 2 skipped, or Undone
ActionsProblems (download the skipped rows) and Undo

Undo is offered for your latest import while none of its orders has moved on and when your company may cancel orders online; otherwise the row says Can't undo: and why. No imports yet shows before your first file.

Good to know

  • You can't place orders on this page means you don't have the Place orders permission, or your account is on hold. Back to orders returns to the list.
  • The Price column shows what each row will cost on your account.
