Time clock screens
The driver app's Clock in, Breaks, Clock out and Shift complete screens, Shift history, a shift's details, Upcoming shifts, a dispatch-ended shift and Vehicles.
On this page
Company drivers whose account uses shifts clock in at the start of the day and out at the end. Everything starts from the Shift card on Home. If your account doesn't use shifts, the card is missing and these screens say Clock in is not available. For the steps in order, see Clock in, take breaks and clock out.

Add my vehicle appears for contractors. With no vehicle the other sections are hidden and Clock in stays off: employees get Message dispatch and Refresh. |
| 2. Odometer | Type the reading on the number pad | Yes | In km or miles, as your company sets. The last reading is shown; you can't enter less. Take odometer photo (or Retake odometer photo) adds a photo from the camera, and Choose photo picks one from your photo library (hidden when your company takes camera photos only; if the camera is off, the library opens with a note); when your company requires it, Take a photo of the odometer. Your company requires one. shows until you add it. A reading far above the last one opens Is this reading right? with Yes, clock in and Change the reading. |
| 3. Pre-shift checklist | Everything is OK, or tick each item | Yes | Items marked (must pass) have to be OK. Anything not ticked needs What is not OK? |
| 4. Location | Allow location | When your company requires it | Clock in stays off until location is allowed. Try again / Open settings fix a refused permission. |
1. Vehicle groups the list: Assigned to you first, then Company vehicles (only when your company lets every driver pick any company vehicle). A vehicle another driver has picked shows In use by their first name, with the time they picked it, Not in service vehicles are off too, and can't be selected until they release it. Clocking in picks the vehicle for you.
The default checklist: Fuel level is enough for the shift, Tires look good, Lights work, Mirrors are adjusted, Cargo area is secure, Phone is charged, Insurance documents are on board. Your company can set its own.

Vehicle broke down
Change vehicle on the Vehicle card of Home (or Change vehicle on a vehicle's details, or Vehicle broke down? Switch vehicle on Clock out) opens Switch vehicle while you are on shift or on a break: 1. Vehicle you are taking, 2. Reading on the old plate, 3. Reading on the new plate (each with Take odometer photo, required by some companies) and Reason (optional). Switch vehicle ends the shift on the old vehicle at the first reading and carries on, on the new one, from the second; a break in progress ends. Your shift carries on as one: the timer, Started time and breaks on Home keep counting from your first clock in, and Shift history shows one entry with Vehicles on this shift inside (each vehicle keeps its own mileage and pay line behind the scenes). The switch sends your position, like a break. If you are driving a route, the route and its remaining stops move to the new vehicle with you, and dispatch sees it in the activity log. The new vehicle must be free and its reading can't be lower than its last one.
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| This vehicle is in use by name. Pick another vehicle. | Another driver holds it; the list refreshes |
| That vehicle is on another route. Pick another vehicle. | The vehicle you chose is on another driver's route in progress |
| A capacity or handling message (for example …cannot carry) | The new vehicle can't take what is still on your route. Nothing changes: your shift and route stay as they were |
The vehicle pickers
On Change vehicle and Switch vehicle the list is ordered: AVAILABLE vehicles first (the ones assigned to you first, grouped by type), then YOUR LICENCE DOES NOT COVER THESE (greyed, each with Needs licence class), then IN USE OR OUT OF SERVICE (In use by name, or Not in service). With more than 8 vehicles a search box (Search by plate, make or type) appears. A vehicle assigned to another driver who is not clocked in is free to pick once that driver last picked it more than 12 hours ago; it reads In use by while its driver is clocked in on it or picked it in the last 12 hours. If there is no other vehicle on Switch vehicle you see No other vehicle: No other vehicle is assigned to you. Ask your dispatcher to assign one, or to allow all company vehicles.
Change vehicle (off shift)
Change vehicle (from the Vehicle card, Profile > Vehicles > Change vehicle, or a vehicle's details) lists your vehicles as on Clock in. Tap one, then Use plate to make it yours to drive. Release vehicle (it asks Release plate? first; Keep vehicle cancels) lets other drivers pick it; an assigned vehicle stays in your list. A vehicle another driver holds shows In use by and can't be tapped. If you have a route in progress while off shift, you see You have a route in progress. Clock in and use Switch vehicle, or ask dispatch to move it.
If your company requires clock-in
Some companies ask you to clock in before you work an order. Until you do:
- Accept order and Start pickup aren't available. The button is greyed out with the reason under it, or missing on an older version of the app. Home shows Clock in to work your orders, and a tap that doesn't go through says Clock in first.
- Load at the depot answers the same way for an order you haven't started.
- You can still decline an order: tap ⋯ > Decline order.
Clock in and the buttons come back. A break still counts as clocked in. If you clock out in the middle of an order you already started, you can still finish it.
Breaks
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Lunch, Rest, Fuel (under TAKE A BREAK) | Starts that break at once |
| More | All types: Lunch, Rest, Fuel, Maintenance, Personal, Other, and Breaks this shift |
| Break | On the smaller card while an order is in progress |
| End break | Ends it |
Each reason shows what your company pays and how long a break may be, for example Unpaid · 60 min max or Paid up to 20 min · 60 min max. While on break, orders are paused (Orders paused until you end the break.) and the timer counts up from the moment the break started (for example 4:05), with the time left of the longest break, then the time over it. Starting and ending a break sends your phone's position, so your dispatcher can see where each break was; if the phone has no position, the break still starts and the place is left empty. Once the break runs past your company's longest break, Still on break? offers End break or Ask me again in 10 min. If your company asks for a break after a number of hours, Home shows Time for a break with Choose a break until you take one.
Clock out
| Part | Notes |
|---|---|
| Active orders warning | You still have 2 active orders. Finish or transfer them first if you can. The Clock out? sheet repeats it and says the orders stay assigned to you while you are off shift. |
| Orders on board | Only when your company stops clock-out while you carry orders: the picked-up orders are listed, tap one to open it. Deliver or hand them back, then clock out again. |
| End odometer | Type the reading; Started at shows your start reading. Add Take odometer photo if required. |
| This shift | Worked (your time minus the break types your company doesn't pay, the same hours the summary shows), Distance and Deliveries, plus what you earned from deliveries so far. Hourly pay is added when you clock out. |
Review and clock out opens Clock out?; Confirm clock out ends the shift, Keep working goes back. A running break ends when you clock out.
Shift complete
Hours worked, Breaks (the number of breaks and their length, for example 1 break · under 1 min; None only when you took no break), Distance, Deliveries and, when your company shows pay, Estimated earnings. Back to home closes it.
Shift history and details
Shift history starts with the totals for Last 7 days, Last 30 days or All time (Shifts, Hours worked, Distance, Deliveries), counted by the server. Ended by dispatch marks shifts a dispatcher ended and Ended automatically shifts the system closed because nobody clocked out. Load more shows older ones; Export shifts (CSV) shares the range you picked as a spreadsheet, in your company's time zone and distance unit. No shifts yet before your first one. Tap a shift for its details: the dispatcher's reason when it was ended by dispatch, the Timeline, Breaks, Odometer (Vehicle, Start and End readings, Distance) and, when you can see pay, Earnings line by line with the Total.
Ended by dispatch or automatically
When a dispatcher ends your shift, Home shows Your last shift was ended by dispatch. When you forgot to clock out and your company's limit passed, it says Your last shift was ended automatically. See details shows the reason (or No reason was given.), when it ended and What was recorded, with Clock in, Call dispatcher and Back to home. You can clock in again right away.
Upcoming shifts
The shifts your company published for the next two weeks: day, times and depot. No upcoming shifts when none are published.
Vehicles
Profile > Vehicles lists the vehicles you can use, grouped as on Clock in: Assigned to you, then Company vehicles. Inactive ones are marked, and a vehicle another driver holds shows In use by and can't be selected. Picking a vehicle here makes it yours to drive; releasing it frees it for others and it stays in your list if it is assigned to you. Add my vehicle, when allowed, asks for:
| Field | Required |
|---|---|
| Licence plate, Make, Model | Yes |
| Insurance expires, Registration expires | Dates, as your company asks |
Good to know
- Clock in, breaks and clock out work without signal and sync later (see Work without signal).
- Signing out does not end your shift.
- Today on Home shows your hours worked and break time so far, deliveries, distance and (when your company shows pay) earnings. A shift that runs past midnight counts only the part after midnight in today's numbers, in your company's time zone.
- Times you did something without signal are saved as the moment you did it, not the moment the phone reconnected.
- When you clock out, a vehicle you took from Company vehicles is released for the next driver. A vehicle assigned to you, or your own, stays yours.
- While you are clocked in you change vehicle with Switch vehicle (readings on both vehicles); Release vehicle is for when you are off shift. Your dispatcher can also release a vehicle for you.
